Monthly Digest: March

So many events happened during this month, here are some of them.

On March 2, the Scientific Student Conference "Joint Future: Russia between East and West. Old questions, new answers" was held. In the sections devoted to the West and East, students of 13 universities of Russia made presentations.

The conference was an important step towards understanding and solving the long-standing question: what kind of civilization can Russia be and what development path should it take - a partnership with Western countries or interacting with the countries of the Middle East and Asia.

On March 6, the oLogy project, together with the SAUH organized a seminar "Modernity and psychiatry or where the Napoleons went", which was held by Yevgeny Pashnin, a psychiatrist, a junior researcher at the Scientific and Practical Psychoneurological Center.

On March 14, the last lecture was held within a master class on public speaking, organized by the Political Analysis Club of the SAUH with the support of the Political Science Faculty of the SAUH.

The master class is the preparatory stage before the main event - the contest of public speeches "Discourse".

During the month, the listeners had the opportunity to attend lectures and to perfect the acquired skills in practice under the guidance of professionals. Participants were given absurd, but creative tasks, which developed acting skills and the ability to conduct a discussion.

Abbas Juma, political observer of the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, told about the Information wars and how to distinguish journalism from propaganda within the Scientific and Educational Lecture "Time to Think". He analyzed cases from doping wars to "Russian hackers".

From March 25 to March 31, the Cinema week was held. Students took part in the film-quest, watched masterpieces of Soviet cinema. The closing event Week of Cinema became the long-awaited ceremony of rewarding the participants of the Film Festival “Sinij Filin” and watching the contest works.

On the 27th of March, the oLogy project, together with the SAUH organized a seminar on scientific journalism from Svetlana Sokolova-Mikhailova, editor of the popular science magazine "The Cat of Schroedinger", who told how to write interesting texts about complex things.
