The past month was rich in events.
Firstly, the debate club "GAUGN Debate" was established. Its goal is to help our students to overcome the fear of public speaking. After visiting “GAUGN Debate” students will find arguments in any dispute and get out of any situation through convincing dialogue. Also the “Dramatic Club” was established. Its members will be able to take part in workshops and fascinating performances and will learn to use their body, speech and emotions.
Secondly, a solemn awarding took place the within nation-wide media forum at the Russian Academy of Sciences, which was organized by the SAUH on the 13th of October. Among participants there were students and young specialists from 138 Russian cities. Experts in Media came together at the Presidium of the RAS to share their knowledge and success stories. Media forum was inaugurated by SAUH principal D. V. Fomin-Nilov. He stressed that this forum was first of all the merit of SAUH students.
Thirdly, the World Festival of Youth and Students was held at Sochi from 14th to 22th of September. A second-year student of the Faculty of Political Science Ivan Safronov was a member of WFYS. He shared with us his impressions of the festival. His team was responsible for the organization of G20 model, the plenary discussion on the topic of globalization with the participation of representatives of the Valdai Discussion Club, as well as the discussion of the project "Youth 2030". The main theme of discussion was taxation of transnational companies. The international G20 model fulfilled its main task: showed the power of international co-operation and a possibility of dialogue with representatives of different nationalities.
The plenary discussion with the dean of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU Andrew Shutov and political scientists from the Europe and the USA was another direction of their work. They have discussed a problem of Catalonia and a definition of “globalization” as a phenomenon. “As a student of the Faculty of Political Science of SAUH, I could easily discuss political doctrines of the different periods and their influence on the modern political science” - said Ivan Safronov.
And last but not least, the SAUH sports team took part in the Nation-wide race GTO (Get Fit for Labour and Defence) on the 7th of October. Despite the bad weather conditions, the SAUH team successfully crossed the 6 km long cross-country route equipped with 22 obstacles. Participants were awarded with medals.
