Студенты ГАУГН продолжают знакомиться с Москвой и пробовать новые форматы применения своих знаний английского языка. На этот раз студенты направления Социально-правовая экспертиза и студенты Факультета психологии посетили встречу клуба ораторского мастерства на английском языке «Toastmasters», которому недавно исполнилось 100 лет!
Встречи клуба организованы так, что все являются одновременно и зрителями, и участниками заседаний клуба, все обязательно рассказывают о себе по-английски и принимают участие в обсуждении разных тем.
Вот и наши студентки Ишкова Юлия, Постникова Мария и Яныгина Амина выступили перед большой аудиторией и поделились своими размышлениями на тему «Gratitude» (благодарность). Делимся с Вами их впечатлениями об этом мероприятии.
«The event was hosted by a group of female speakers, they talked about psychology - gave advice on how to perform better in public and "how not to be afraid", and also told different life stories and joked a lot. I enjoyed this event. There were a lot of jokes and a friendly atmosphere, and everyone spoke in a clear language. To be honest, I never liked performing on stage, I don't know how to speak to the audience well and get lost, I forget the words, so I felt a lot of shame when performing and speaking on stage. But then we were treated cookies. Of course I want to come to such an event again, because it was not only an interesting experience, for me - it was a real struggle with my own fear of performing in front of an audience. «I liked the whole event, everyone was polite and nice. I was impressed by how well they speak English. At first I felt anxiously interested in the event, but then I felt very comfortable. During the event, I wanted to study English even harder. There is a moment that I remember very much, it's when people went out and answered questions in English and for me it was amazing that people without training can speak English so easily. I would like to attend more such events, as it is a very good practice in English. «The event was held by women from the Moscow Free Speakers Club. Except the main presenters, there were other speakers, for example an English teacher and a retired man. They told about gratitude in our life. I like what speech was like psychology. It is really interesting and motivational. But a little minus for me is that some peoples’ speech was not very clear. I was really glad what I understood most of it, and i like hearing some interesting English words. I think what people who speak English give information in a different way than Russian speakers. For me interesting was small speeches from the attendees. It is give me new information about other people's thoughts. Yes, I want go to more events like this, because it is interesting and I can practice my level of English.
